SRINAGAR – A gunfight broke between militants and state forces in Awantipora area of south Kashmir on Tuesday, police said.
An operation was launched based on a specific input about the presence of militants in the area, they said, leading to the gunfight.
The exchange of fire was going on and no casualties had been reported so far, the police said, adding that further details were being awaited.
