SRINAGAR, MAY 07: Iqbal Day was observed at Government Higher Secondary Institute, Jawahir Nagar here today.
Chief Education Officer, Srinagar was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Various scholars, intellectuals and senior citizens besides large number of students participated in the function.
Speaking on the occasion, the contribution of Dr. Sir Mohammad Iqbal in the field of culture, education and literature was highlighted on the occasion.
The students of the Institution also organized culture programmes.
Shahid-ul-Haq, Burhaan and Asif bagged the first three prizes respectively.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal organized a road race from JNV Hatbora to Degree College, Ganderbal in which as many as 70 students participated.
Nisar Ahmad Dar, Khursheed Ahmad and Idress Ahmad bagged the first three positions respectively.
Principal of the College flagged off the race and later distributed prizes among the winners for their encouragement.
