CHRAR-E-SHARIF: Spurt in theft incidents in Central Kashmirs Charar-e-Sharif town has caused sense of insecurity among the locals. Locals alleged that police has miserably failed to stop activities of burglars and so far not a single thief has been put behind the bars.
One Abdul Salam Rangrez from Nowhar, Charar-e-Sharief was robbed of his months salary yesterday.
In the wee hours today, thieves stole goods worth thousands of rupees from the same locality in the houses of Ghulam Nabi Peer and Zahoor Ahmed Wani.
In a similar incident from the town thieves broke into the houses of Tariq Umar and Shiekh Ghulam Mohammad and decamped with some cash.
Station House Officer Charar-e-Sharif, Manzoor Ahmed said that they are active but the people were unwilling to register cases in police station. In fact people told police that nothing important was stolen from their houses, yet we have constituted a team to nab the burglars. (CNS)
