SRINAGAR: Merely a day after Government announced new timings for schools, many parents say that the new timing was proving bane for their small kids as they need to prepare them for school even before the dawn.
Many aggrieved parents said that UKG and LKG kids suffer as after getting ready for their respective schools, they are forced to wait further for their school vans.
School vans have to necessarily arrive at designated stops an hour before the scheduled timing that is around 7:00 am. Moreover it takes us an additional hour to prepare them for school that means we have to gear up even before dawn, said a parent adding that new school timing should be announced for the small kids.
Parents said they also acknowledge the fact that the administration issued this timing only to avoid traffic congestion but the Government should also consider our problem.
When contacted Director School Education Mir Tariq said that he knows parents were facing lot of problems. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has called a meeting with parents on Thursday and hopefully something positive will come out, he said. (CNS)
