SRINAGAR: In a startling disclosure opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti Wednesday claimed that the revered Sufi shrine of Dastgeer Sahib was set on fire under a plan to help a contractor involved in construction business.
Addressing a gathering in North Kashmirs Sumbal area, Mehbooba alleged that one of the ministers in National Conference government has close connections with construction mafia and one of his relatives is a contractor and to provide benefits to him, the workers of the said minister might be responsible for setting the shrine on fire.
Mehbooba on record said that she has apprehensions that the shrine was set on fire to provide contract to a person who has close connections with one of the National Conference ministers. (CNS)
