Blames Army for Disorder in Kashmir
SRINAGAR: Blaming Army for disturbances in Kashmir, senior National Conference leader, Dr Shiekh Mustafa Kamaal Wednesday alleged that the intentions of Army were not pure and they want to keep the pot boiling in Kashmir.
Go and tell them (Army) where they got IED. Once there is peace there will be no role of Army in Kashmir and these people dont want that peace should prevail in Kashmir, Kamaal told Srinagar based news agency CNS in an interview. He added that besides Army there were scores of agencies which keep the pot of militancy boiling in Kashmir.
Describing the Army and other agencies as avowed enemies of Kashmir, Kamaal said these agencies never wish to see Kashmir peaceful. Disturbances give them chance to trample Kashmiri people. Their agenda is to suppress Kashmiris and they dont want peace in Kashmir, he alleged.
From last two years Kashmir is witnessing peace and these people dont want peace to prevail in Kashmir, he said and added that when from last two years no IED was found in Srinagar then why on a special day army claimed that it detected an IED. Go and ask Army where they detected the IED. These people dont want that Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) should get revoked from Kashmir and they can go to any extent, CNS quoted him as saying.
Kamaal further said that Army was responsible for all the mess in Kashmir. Army and other agencies try to give world a message that Kashmir is still a militancy-prone area and situation is not conducive here, senior NC leader said.
Hitting hard at coalition partner, Congress party, Kamaal said that it is not worth to trust. We had compulsions during 2008 but we are free now and will contest 2014 Assembly elections on our own, he said and added National Conference suffered a lot by forming coalition government with Congress.
He said NC does not need Congress anymore, as this party is not trustworthy. CNS
Kamaal Not Serious: Soz
Refusing to comment on the role of Sham Lal Sharma in spurious drug scam, State Congress Chief, Prof Saifudin Soz Wednesday said that he never takes Mustafa Kamaals statements seriously.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a functions at Eidgah area of the old city, Soz said that Kamaal was in habit of making statements and I never respond to him.
While replying to a question about the presence of IED in Srinagar, Soz said that he does not know about it. I was in Delhi and I dont know anything about it. Whosoever planted it (IED), cannot be the well-wisher of the people. Disturbance mars people and people suffer on account of violence, he said.
