Qazigund: Sleuths of Commercial Taxes Department seized a truck load of banned polythene at Qazigund today.
According to reports a truck bearing number JK13A -2081 of new Kashmir Road Lines transport agency was intercepted at Lower Munda by sleuths of Commercial Taxes Department.
The documents produced by the driver of truck Javeed Ahmad Dar r/o Reshipora Awantipora Pulwama indicated that the vehicle was carrying onions to be unloaded at Parimpora. However physical verification of the vehicle revealed that the truck was carrying banned polythene bags packed in gunny sacks.
Vehicle was seized and its physical verification was carried out. Banned Polythene weighing nine tonnes was packed into 180 gunny sacks. Perusal of the documents revealed that the consigner of the goods was M/S Surinder Kumar and Co.
The said vehicle had managed to evade the authorities at Lakhanpore however the vigilant sleuths at Lower Munda toll post was able to detain the vehicle.
