RAFIABAD: Senior Congress leader and former Minister, Abdul Gani Vakil Tuesday appealed the Hurriyat Conference to have a rethink on their election boycott policy and allow people to get rid of corrupt leaders who are on looting spree in Kashmir.
Addressing a gathering in Panzala, Rafiabad, Vakil said the election boycott extended by Hurriyat will in no way help people of Kashmir. Once there is boycott, those leaders get elected who loot the wealth of Kashmir and indulge in corrupt practices. I appeal Hurriyat to take their election boycott call back and let people vote freely, he said.
Vakil said that if Hurriyat really want peace and happiness to return to Kashmir then they should give a chance to people to elect honest and upright candidates.
Vakil appealed Congress high command to act against corrupt ministers and said if this was not done, Congress might face the music in coming Assembly elections.
