ANANTNAG: A high level officers meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone to review pace of ongoing work on four lane National Highway (NHW).
Project Director NHAI, Officers of Ram Constructions, Traffic, Irrigation and Flood Control, PHE and other concerned officers besides Additional Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Mr. G.M. Dar were present in the meeting.
District Development Commissioner urged upon the officers that acquisition of 176 kanals of land required for dumping and parking purpose near Ujroo village should be speeded up so that it can be handed over to NHAI.
The meeting was informed that out of required land of 4747 kanals for construction of national highway in district Anantnag. As many as 4300 kanals have been acquired and handed over to concerned agencies for necessary action.
The auction of 31 Chinar trees coming in the way of national highway has been completed and Rs. 24 lakh have been deposited in Government Treasury are felling of the trees have been started.
The officers of NHAI were directed to repair the damaged irrigation kanals and PHE water pipes so that public does not face any problem in the coming Rabi season. The officers were also directed to deposit the last years crop damage compensation with district administration so that it can be distributed among the concerned farmers.
District Development Commissioner directed the concerned to gear up their men and machinery for speeding up the pace of work so that the project can be completed within given time frame.
