JAMMU: Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad, inaugurated Manda Deer Park and souvenir shop constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 49 Lakh here this afternoon and also inspected the Manda Deer Park which has been upgraded recently.
The Manda Deer Park, also called as Manda Zoo, has been upgraded during 2012-13 by way of addition of a recreation park, Souvenir Shop Partition walls and parking place adjacent to the office of the Chief Wildlife Warden besides laying of tiles on the tracks.
A nature interpretation Centre, Museum, Display Halls and Entry gate are also being constructed under CAMPA with an estimated cost of Rs. 42.00 lac.
Commissioner/Secretary, Forests, Mr. Ejaz Iqbal, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Mr. Vinod Ranjan, Chief Wildlife Warden, J&K, Mr. A. K. Singh, MD, SFC, Abay Kumar, Chief Conservator Forests wild life Jammu, Mr. Asif Mehmood Sagar and other senior officers of the department were also accompanied the Minister.
