SRINAGAR 452924.54 kanals (56615.54 acres) land in Jammu and Kashmir is with the different Defence Departments, Wings and Organisations, Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday.
Responding to a question by National Conference parliamentarian and former High Court judge Hasnain Massodi, Minister of State in the Ministry of Defence Shripad Naik also revealed that Rs 24,48,92,038 was outstanding on account of rent to land owners in Jammu and Kashmir. He said Rs 1,34,45,28,793 rent was paid to the land owners in last three years.
He said among 56615.54 acres (452924.54 kanals) of the land with defence departments including army, 2152.8 acres of it are in Anantnag, 2326.644 acres are in Budgam, 223.777 acres in Ganderbal, 1430.129 acres in Pulwama, 20.056 acres in Kulgam, 5.9443 acres in Shopian, 3757.845 acres in Srinagar, 1590.78 acres in Doda, 3963.03 acres in Udhampur, 93.089 acres in Ramban, 239.67 acres in Reasi, 15.35 acres in Kishtwar, 18935.45 acres in Jammu, 2258.95 acres in Leh, 3529.87 acres in Kargil, 3620.44 acres in Rajouri, 3436.64 acres in Poonch, 435.86 acres in Bandipora, 3576.35 acres in Baramulla, 1530.13 acres in Kupwara, 2091.34 acres in Samba and 1381.28 acres in Kathua.
He said that in Anantnag, the outstanding rent is Rs 12517468; Rs 6259964 for land in Budgam, Rs 973360 in Ganderbal, Rs 12337860 in Pulwama, RS 179669 in Kulgam, Rs 13200 in Shopian, Rs 202883 in Srinagar, Rs 730656 in Doda, Rs 13038990 in Udhampur, Rs 872632 in Ramban, Rs 2534933 in Reasi, Rs 186985 in Kishtwar, Rs 76520330 in Jammu, Rs 1032427 in Leh, Rs 6710257 in Kargil, Rs 42924912 in Rajouri, Rs 19420855 in Poonch, Rs 805404 in Bandipora, Rs 27984257 in Baramulla, RS 4019595 in Kupwara, Rs 12559625 in Samba and Rs 3065776 in Kathua.
