SRINAGAR – Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the culmination of the fasting month of Ramazan, was celebrated across Kashmir on Wednesday with religious fervour as Muslims in large numbers offered congregational prayers at mosques, Eidgah’s and shrines.
Men and women of all ages, dressed in their best, thronged mosques and shrines here and in other parts of Kashmir for congregational Eid prayers.
Jamia Masjid and Hazratbal witnessed the largest Eid gatherings in the Valley where thousands of faithful turned up for prayers.
Similar gatherings were reported from other district headquarters and major towns of the state.

Eid-ul-Fitr was also celebrated with religious fervor and enthusiasm across Jammu division. In Ladakh majority of Muslims celebrated Eid on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, clashes erupted between groups of youth and forces at several places post Eid prayers in which scores of people sustained injuries.
Clashes broke out in Srinagar, Sopore and Kupwara this morning that continued till afternoon during which forces used tear gas canisters to disperse the agitating youth.
