SRINAGAR Militants on Saturday evening lobbed two grenades towards the house of Congress Leader Umer Jaan at Pinglena in South Kashmirs Pulwama district.
Reports said that the militants one grenade exploded inside the premises of the Congress leaders house while as another one did not explode.
He said that Congress leader was not present at his home when the incident took place.
However, there were no immediate reports of any injury or damage in the incident.
Meanwhile, a police party headed by concerned SHO reached the spot and requested family not to venture out till the unexploded device was disposed of by the Bomb Disposal Squad which has been summoned to the place, they said.
The government forces have cordoned off the area and a manhunt has been launched to nab the assailants.
A police officer said a blast like sound was heard and a police party has been rushed to the spot to ascertain the nature of the blast.
