SRINAGAR A father-son duo was among five people killed in separate road mishaps in Baramulla and Reasi districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, report said.
Two members of a family died, while two others suffered injuries after a car they were travelling in met with an accident in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday evening.
Reports said that the vehicle (Alto 800) skidded of the road and rolled down into a deep gorge near Garkote village of Uri sector.
In the mishap, four persons including father and his three sons boarding the vehicle were injured critically, they said.
In the meantime all the injured were taken to sub district hospital Uri.
A doctor at Uri hospital told a local news agency that they have received four injured persons, two of them were declared brought dead on arrival.
The doctor identified the deceased as Parvaiz Ahmed Khawaja Ganai (42) son of Haji Ata Mohammad Ganie and his son Danish Ahmed (10).
He identified the injured brothers as Shahid Ahmed (13 ) and Suhail Ahmed (11).
The doctor further said that Shahid Ahmed (13) has been referred to Srinagar hospital for specialised treatment while Suhail Ahmed (11) is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
A police official also confirmed the incident and said a case has been registered and further investigation has been taken up.
Meanwhile, three persons were killed after a Tipper they were travelling in met with an accident at Mahore in Reasi district of Jammu region on Friday.
Reports said that the vehicle (Tipper JK19-5322) loaded with Bajri skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Baja Morh Jamalan in Mahore today afternoon. The mishap occurred when the tipper was on its way to Bothi from Arnas.
In the mishap, three persons including the driver were injured critically, they said.
Station House Officer (SHO) Mahore Mohd Anzar Mir told a local news agency that the three persons were immediately evacuated to nearby hospital where all of them were declared brought dead by the doctors.
The officer identified the deceased as Mohd Saleem (23), driver of Rajgarh, Ramban, Zakir Ahmad (22) son of Mohd Qasim of Rajgarh, Ramban and Delar Singh (24) son of Tilak Raj of Lander Udhampur.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations taken up, the officer said. 27-year old biker killed in Qazigund mishap.
A motorcyclist died in a road mishap that took place at Bypass road near Damjan, Qazigund crossing in South Kashmirs Anantnag district on Friday afternoon.
An official told a local news agency that the accident took place on Friday afternoon at Damjan Qazigund area of Anantnag when a fast moving truck hit a 27-year old motorcyclist resulting on spot death.
The deceased was identified as Sajad Ahmad Naikoo, son of Gull Mohammad Naikoo resident of Badragund village of Qazigund. He said that a case has been registered in this regard.
