SRINAGAR Reacting to reports that Home Minister Rajnath Singh has received a letter from a man seeking change of name of Delhis famous Khan Market, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti said change the name will neither change the allegiance of gangs of the market nor will it change the fact that Muslims played a key role in Indias progress.
Ms Mehbooba, who is the president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said the market was named after Khan Abdul, who gave safe passage to immigrants from Pakistan to the place now known as Khan Market.
