CHEK AWANTIPORA Floral Friends Sunday edged past Midoora Pathers to record a two wicket victory in Chek Premier League played at Chek Cricket Stadium.
In what turned out to be see-saw battle, Floral Friends held their nerves in the end to scale down a target of 112 with an over to spare.
The chase that stuttered in the middle overs was given much needed impetus by Skipper Hilal Malik who muscled an undefeated 31 laced with five sixes who along with vice-captain saw their side home.
Rameez Rafeeq and Mudasir Mirza also made telling contribution to make sure their side progressed to another round.
The win though was set up by the bowlers who shot out Midoora Panthers for just 115 on what is a high scoring ground.
Rameez also shone with the ball taking three wickets while Mudasir and Kabir took a brace each.
