SRINAGAR Braving difficult conditions, a group of Kashmiri volunteers along with some Iranian youngsters under the banner of Ehsaas International have set an example of brotherhood and humanity, by working tirelessly to help people in flood-hit Lorestan province of Iran.
Setting aside their ideological preferences, cultural affiliations or religious background, Kashmiris have rushed to help their brethren in Iran hit by a devastating flood.
It is pertinent to mention here that the fundraising campaign was started by a Kashmiri non-political organisation, Ehsaas International, this month and people from every quarter are contributing in this relief and rehabilitation mission.
There were at least 55 schools destroyed due to devastating floods in Lorestan province alone. In the first instance, our team has restored a few schools, which were severely damaged by flash floods. We believe that humanity is not restricted by borders nor by affordability, Hakim Ilyas, Gen. Secretary Ehsaas International told Kashmir Observer.
