SRINAGAR: Tension gripped Hamdanya Colony, Bemina after BSF personnel from a nearby camp broke into a religious place Monday night and beat up the people present there.
Residents alleged that CRPF personnel forced their entry into Imambargah of the locality where a majlis was on in connection with the death anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Zehra (AS), beloved daughter of the holy Prophet (Pbuh) at around 10.30 p.m.
“CRPF men, some in inebriated state, beat several youth present at the gates to pulp and disrupted the majlis,” residents alleged.
They said police soon arrived on the scene and persuaded enraged residents to end protests promising action against the guilty.
