SRINAGAR: Police on Saturday arrested two persons accused of burglary in a Mosque in Sopore town which took place few days back.
The duo reportedly broke-in to Jamia Masjid Logripora, Sopore and stole gas cylinders, electric transformers and other valuable items.
According to a police spokesperson, police station Bumai registered a complaint under section 457, 380 RPC in this regard on Monday, March 18 and took up the investigation.
During the course of investigation two persons Irfan Ahmad and Latief Ahmad Dar both residents of Hathishah, Sopore were nabbed by police and during their interrogation they confessed to have committed the burglary, he said.
Police recovered stolen property including 5 gas cylinders, 2 electric transformers, handy gas and other utensils on their identification, the spokesperson said.
Both the accused are on police remand and their involvement in other burglaries is being probed, police said.
