SRINAGAR: The probe in the killings of two persons in Srinagar and Baramulla by security forces is under way, officials said today.
We are in touch with Army and probe in the death of Tahir Ahmed Sofi killed allegedly by Army is going in right direction, Investigating Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Manzoor Qadri said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile police said that the investigation in the killing of Saidpora youth was on. We have already lodged a case in this regard and investigation is going on at full speed.
Pertinently, 25-year old, Tahir Ahmed Sofi was killed when Army allegedly fired at protestors to disperse them. Army maintains that it has already started Court of Inquiry (CoI) into the killing and asked Jammu and Kashmir Police to identify civilian witnesses in the case.
Meanwhile, a top police official said that probe in the killing of Saidapora youth Altaf Ahmed Wani is underway and the statements of witnesses are being recorded. Police is recording the statements of witnesses, as the probe will progress arrests will be made accordingly, he said adding that a case has already been lodged in this regard. He however said that no arrests have been made so far in this connection.
Pertinently, CRPF personnel allegedly killed a youth in cold blood in Saidapora, Zoonimar soon after the Benima Fidayeen attack. National Conference had claimed that the slain youth was the active supporter of party who was never involved in any case of stone pelting.
