SRINAGAR Five paramilitary CRPF personnel and a policeman were injured in a grenade attack by militants in Anantnag district on Saturday, police said.
The incident occurred when the militants among a crowd lobbed a grenade at the (government) forces in Arwani area of Bijbehara, a police spokesperson said.
Five CRP personnel sustained injuries along with a policeman and were evacuated to a hospital, where they were discharged after first-aid treatment, the spokesperson said. A case has been registered and an investigation is on, he added.
The government forces had launched CASO following a specific input about the presence of militants in the village in the afternoon.
Soon, scores of people took to streets and clashed with government forces. The government forces fired tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protesting youth, reports said. One youth sustained injured due to pellets, they added.
