SRINAGAR: Muttahida Majlis-e-Mashawrat (MMM), an amalgam of various separatist organizations spearheading campaign to seek returns of the mortal remains of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru, on Sunday issued a fresh protest calendar for upcoming week.
According to a statement issued here, people have been asked hold protest demonstrations on Monday from Maghrib to Isha prayers during which they shall raise pro freedom and pro Islamic slogans.
Students have been asked to hold protest demonstrations in their respective colleges and universities on Tuesday.
MMM has called for complete shut down on Wednesday to press for demand for return of mortal remains of Bhat and Guru and as a mark of protest against house arrest of house arrest of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Gilani, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Muhammad Yasin Malik and continued detention of Shabbir Ahmad Shah and his shifting to Kotbhalwal Jail, Jammu besides arrests and crackdowns on Kashmiri youth by the authorities.
People have been asked to observe complete blackout to be observed from Maghrib to Isha prayers on Thursday. Imams of mosques have been asked to present a resolution regarding the MMM programme before the people and would get endorsement from the people apart from offering special prayers.
The Indian civil society members and human rights activists have been asked to protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to press for return of, mortal remains Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru from Tihar Jail to their families. MMM has asked people to observe Sunday as a normal business day.
