SRINAGAR: An Army soldier deployed in the upper reaches of Gulmarag shot himself with his service rifle on Saturday morning while on duty. He died on the spot.
Confirming his death Station House Officer, Tangmarg, Zahoor Ahmed told CNS that Yem Bahadur (5046735) son of Beer Bahadur from Nepal was posted 21 G camp of Gulmarag. He fired two bullets in his head and died instantly. It is not clear yet why he took such an extreme step, he said. (CNS)
