SRINAGAR The Jammu and Kashmir high court on Wednesday issued a notice to government on a Public Interest Litigation, seeking comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure for hassle-free movement of patients care ambulances in the time of need while transporting the patients to and fro to the hospitals.
The PIL also directions to the respondents to immediately implement traffic advisory issued by the traffic police department.
Also, directions are sought for equipping all the hospitals, rural and urban, with modern high technology patient care ambulances with trained drivers.
It also seeks directions to the respondents to remove old and unequipped ambulances from the fleet being run and operated by the respondents unless the same are certified to be fit for usage by the competent authority.
The PIL also sought directions to the respondents to establish a traffic junction module for better patient transport management, install GPS system in ambulances, establish control rooms where ambulance drivers across the state can coordinate with the traffic police for clear passage of ambulances.
Ensure all facilities in children institutions in J&K: HC
The J&K High Court has directed authorities to ensure all facilities in the children institutions.
The division bench of Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Sanjeev Kumar passed the orders after hearing the amicus to the PIL Ms Farah Bashir who informed the court that the children in these institutions are facing a lot of difficulties and are living in a miserable conditions as there is no proper winter equipments like clothing, heating and medical facilities available in these institutions.
Counsel representing the state authorities said that all the issue would be addressed in the near future as SAC in its 24th meeting has discussed all the issues.
He informed the court that apart from 28 posts of various designations further 48 posts have been created.
With these submissions, the court directed the authorities to ensure requirement of these posts was completed at the earliest in order to the proper functioning of these institutions.
Court has also directed to respond the report of the chairperson of Child Welfare Committee and address the lack of facilities as indicated by him in his report. With regard to providing sports facilities, the court
directed the SWD to report the court on next date about the distribution of sports facilities to the Child Care Homes.
About the recommendation made by Ms Bharti Ali (consultant), the Court was informed by the state counsel that these recommendations have been addressed in the SAC meeting and creation of separate Women and Child Care institution have been discussed on threadbare and further development in this regard be placed before the court.
