SRINAGAR: Police has registered a murder case against CRPF for killing a youth in Saidapora Srinagar in the wake of Bemina Fidayeen attack on 13th of this month.
CRPF personnel belonging to 73rd Battalion allegedly killed the father of three daughters Altaf Ahmed Wani in Saidpora when according to police stone pelting was going on in the area.
Ruling National Conference claimed that Altaf was not a stone-pelter but a staunch supporter of the party against whom no case of stone pelting can be found in any police station.
Taking strong note of the killing of Wani the government directed police to file a case against the erring CRPF personnel and accordingly police has registered a murder case against CRPF men of 73rd Battalion.
A case under section 302, 147, 148 and 336 of Crpc has been registered in police station Soura and investigation is under way. We have filed an FIR 13/2013 in this regard and the investigating officer has started his job in this regard, a police official said adding that no arrests have been made so far.
Meanwhile Director General of Police Ashok Prasad confirmed that an FIR has been lodged against CRPF and police has started its investigation has started in this regard. CNS
