SRINAGAR At least 21 people were injured after they were attacked by stray dogs in Baramulla on Tuesday.
As per reports a pack of stray dogs appeared in Kantbagh area this morning and attacked scores of people. In the incident, twenty-one persons were injured, local residents said.
Heavy number of canines has caused a reign of terror among school going children who are facing difficulties to venture out.
Local residents said that all the injured people were taken to district hospital Baramulla for treatment. However, the lack of vaccine at the hospital forced the relatives of the victims to buy them from private medical stores at higher rates.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Baramulla Dr Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, when contacted, said that they have already given instructions to all the hospitals to make available all kind of emergency vaccines. He said that he will look into the matter as to why the hospital is lacking in the vaccines.
