SRINAGAR The Crime Branch has booked owner of HIIT consultancy, Waqar Wani of Liderwan Trehgam Kupwara for duping a resident of city of Rs 10 Lakh on the promise of providing admission in the post graduate course to his daughter outside the state
The case was registered on the complaint of Fayaz Mustafa of Green Avenue Sector-B Peer-Bagh Srinagar. The complaint revealed that Mustafa approached the consultancy for arranging admission for his daughter for a P.G. course outside the state. But the accused Waqar Wani who had promised admission of complainants daughter didnt arrange the same and later failed to return the money of Rs 10 lakh.
Subsequently, a preliminary enquiry was initiated at Crime Branch Kashmir and during the course of investigation it came to fore that the complainant had paid the money to accused Waqar Wani for providing admission to his daughter in P.G course at Banglore Karnataka. But the accused has not arranged admission in the course.
It also came to fore that the accused issued a cheque for Rs 2 lakh bearing no 000855 dated 23.09.2015, in the name of Axis Bank Kupwara, which was dishonored due to insufficient balance. In this manner, the accused Waqar Wani cheated the complainant and grabbed his hard-earned money in a fraudulent and dishonest manner, a statement by the Crime Branch said.
