SRINAGAR The Vigilance Organization Wednesday booked a former Managing Director of State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCO), Amit Sharma, and four other senior officials in the recruitment scam in the corporation.
According to officials of investigating agency during inquiry of a complaint it was found 23 people were recruited on different posts in 2016-17. During a surprise check it surfaced in 2016-2017 Amit Sharma along with some other officials had illegally recruited
23 people without putting the posts to advertisement in flagrant violation of rules and regulations, officials said.
Other senior officials who have been named in the FIR are DK Razdan then Superintending Engineer, Nazir Ahmad Parray then Executive Engineer Division 1st, Abdul Rashid Bhat then Executive Engineer Division 2nd, Suhail Malik then Executive Engineer Division 3rd. They have been charged with making the appointments in the Corporation.
The public servants in furtherance with criminal conspiracy made entry of 23 beneficiaries in SIDCO department conferring undue pecuniary benefit to themselves and the beneficiaries at the cost of state exchequer, read a statement by the Vigilance Organisation. The investigating agency has registered an FIR No.33/2018 with its police station.
