SRINAGAR Over four per cent polling was recorded in Kashmir during the final phase of municipal polls on Tuesday.
According to figures released by the chief election officer, the total votes polled during the phase-IV were 9656 of which 5425 were males and 4231 were females.
The Srinagar district recorded four cent polling in the fourth phase of municipal polls.
The final vote percentage of central Kashmirs Ganderbal district was 11.3 per cent.
Polling began at 6 am amidst stringent security arrangements at 308 polling stations in the twin districts of Srinagar and Ganderbal. It would end at 4 pm.
Eight municipal bodies across six districts in Kashmir valley were scheduled to go to polls in this phase of the elections. However, out of the eight, there was a contest only in two bodies.
Poll percentage till 02 pm.

Eight municipal bodies spanning across six districts – all in Kashmir Valley were scheduled to go to polls in the fourth and final phase of the elections. However, out of the eight, only two will see voting, while there will be no contest in the rest of the six bodies.
The rest of the bodies Pattan in Baramulla district of north Kashmir, Pampore, Pulwama and Khrew in Pulwama district in south, Shopian Municipal Committee in Shopian district in south and Dooru Verinag in Anantnag district also in south Kashmir will see no voting either because the candidates won unopposed or no nominations were submitted.
