LANGATE MLA Langate and AIP President, Er Rasheed, Saturday visited village Shartgund Bala and adjoining areas where HM militant commander, Manan Wani, and his associate Aashiq Zargar, were killed.
Rasheed while expressing sympathy with the people whose property was damaged during the encounter assured them of all help.
On the occasion, Rasheed condemned use of force against civilians and accused forces of crossing all the limits.
He questioned the DGP and Army top brasses for their failure to ensure restraint of forces.
AIP leader sought stern action against those who picked up a youth Mudasir Ahmad Beigh son of Sonaullah Beigh, resident of Jahama, handcuffed him and then mercilessly fired bullet in his leg in presence of dozens of witnesses.
Similarly dozens were injured and the window panes and other property was damaged in Shartgund Bala, Teerina, Prungroo and Qalamabad areas, he said.
Rasheed condemned Handwara Police for detaining around forty youth hailing from different areas who were on way to Lolab to attend the last rites of Manan Wani.
He said that there is no reason to detain these mourners and by arresting them police has shown its true colors.
While reiterating unity among masses added that there is no substitute to right to self determination and it is the only road that leads to peace.
Er. Rasheed also condemned the continuous harassment of Kashmiri students outside state especially in Aligarh Muslim University and said that party will carry out a peaceful march in Srinagar tomorrow against harassment of Kashmiri students and their suspension from AMU.
