SRINAGAR In order to review the implementation and Expenditure scenario of different centrally sponsored schemes and flagship programmes being implemented in Kashmir division, Director Agriculture Kashmir Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi today conveyed a meeting of Senior Officers of the Department here at Agriculture Complex Lal Mandi.
Director Agriculture asked the officers to expedite the expenditure in different programmes so that the actual purpose of the schemes could be served and their benefits could reach the farmers. Ensure every allotment is judiciously utilised and the expenditures documented digitally he said.
Andrabi said the Government is planning to restore all its assets and therefore directed all the concerned officers to furnish the details of unfunded/languishing projects in different districts of Kashmir division so that the report could be submitted to the government for further course of action.
Director Agriculture impressed upon the officers to explore all the avenues, opportunities so that a cluster of villages each is identified in every district and developed on modern lines wherein all the schemes and programmes of Agriculture Department and allied wings could be implemented in a co-ordinated manner.
He said the Department should double the efforts to build a skill-based farming community with a vision to compete with the farmers of developed agriculture economies. Andrabi highlighted the importance of strengthening the departmental farms. The departmental farms can serve as centre of excellence, showcasing different Agricultural activities in a passionate manner so that more educated youth could be attracted towards the farming sector. He directed the concerned officers to ensure the departmental farms are developed on international standards in order to make our farmers relevant in national and international markets.
Director Agriculture asked the officers to work with commitment, close coordination so that farmers don’t face any hardships during the entire farming operation.
The meeting was attended by all Joint Directors, Divisional Officers and Chief Agriculture Officers of Kashmir Division.
