BUDGAM District Development Commissioner Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today inspected the under construction Residential Project at Sheikhpora Migrant Colony in Budgam.
On her visit to the Migrant Colony, the DDC directed the JKPCC project executing agency to speed up the work on two undergoing construction blocks and ensure both the buildings are ready to handover to the families by March- 2019.
During her inspections, the DDC was informed that six residential blocks as additional transit accommodation are being constructed for the rehabilitation of migrant Kashmiri Pandits. Each building will consist 16 flats and total cost of the project is Rs 30 crore. Four blocks have already been handed over the families and the practice of sharing flats has been done away with.
The DDC also interacted with various Pandit families and gave a patient hearing to the grievances of migrants and assured them that all their genuine issues would be addressed on priority. On spot directions were given to concerned to ensure all facilities including uninterrupted water and electricity supply to the families putting up in 200 individual quarters.
She also directed concerned departments to ensure proper drainage system and lifting of garbage regularly and its proper disposal from the Migrant Colony.
