SRINAGAR A two day wall painting competition regarding solid waste management at Soura Srinagar was held on 29th and 30th of September 2018.
With the theme of 3 Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) of SWM, the completion was held involving the students from Art Club of Green Valley Educational Institute Ellahi Bagh Srinagar.
The paintings drawn by these students highlighted the ways and means to tackle waste in order to make Srinagar City Green and clean.
Organized by Valleys reputed Private Company, GEMINI PRODUCTIONS Pvt. Ltd; that works with Srinagar Municipal Corporation as its Information, Education and Communication (IEC) partner and supported by Green Valley Educational Institute, the competition was witnessed by Officers of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, its field staff, and the staff and students of Green Valley Educational Institute.
The two day competition was held in two sessions both days. In the first session Officers of Srinagar Municipal Corporation and Field Staff of Gemini Productions made the students aware about various forms of waste and the ways and means to treat different types of waste.
The speakers told the gathering of students that the Government has vowed to make Srinagar a waste free city by March 2019 and appealed the youngsters to play their role in waste reduction as the future citizens of this City.
The Participating Students included Myla Khan of Class 12th, Faheem Fatima Class 10th, Rutba Rayees Mir Class 8th, Afrah Aejaz Akhoon, Masooma Ali Parray, Maryam Masooma Mirza of Class 8th.
