SRINAGAR In wake of the elections to Urban Local Bodies, the government on Monday asked all employees to remain available at their respective headquarters or places of posting till the conclusion of the polls.
According to an order issued here, the government also cancelled leave to all its employees till the conclusion of the elections being held in four phases.
Consequent to the notification of schedule of elections for Urban Local Bodies and Panchayats across the State and with a view to ensuring their smooth conduct, the following directions are issued for compliance by all concerned: Leave of any kind sanctioned to government employee(s)- except leave sanctioned on medical grounds or for study purposes shall stand cancelled forthwith. The concerned employee(s) shall report to their respective places of posting immediately, reads a government order issued here.
No leave of any kind shall be granted to a government employee(s) except in case of medical emergency till the conclusion of elections, it said, adding, All the employees shall remain available at their respective headquarters/places of posting till the conclusion of the elections.
Notification issued for final phase
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Electoral Officer Shaleen Kabra issued notification Monday for conduct of fourth and final phase of the upcoming municipal polls in the state.
The notification has been issued for various wards of the municipal bodies across the state which are slated to go to the polls in the fourth phase on October 16, an official spokesperson said.
According to the notification, the last date for filing nominations is October 1, while the scrutiny of nominations is October 3, he said.
He said the last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 5 and counting of votes will be done on October 20.
