SRINAGAR Confidant Delhi Public School (DPS) Budgam cruised into Chinar Cup finals after a nail biting 2-1 win against Army Goodwill School, Sopore-Bandipore here Friday night.
This was the second semifinal match of Chinar-Cup and with this DPS Budgam will now face formidable DPS Srinagar at their home ground on Sunday evening.

DPS, Srinagar qualified for the finals after defeating Green Valley Educational Institute in penalty shootout by 4 – 3 goals in the first semi finals on Thursday. DPS Budgam scored a spectacular win over the favourites Tyndale Biscoe School team in the second quarterfinals on Wednesday.
On Friday DPS Budgam faced stiff resistance from AGS-Sopore-Bandipore unlike AGS Hanjik which they trounced with 13 goals to nill on September 8.
DPS-Budgam goalie Zahid, despite injuries suffered, managed to make 13 saves winning the accolades from the spectators present. Striker Adeel Tariq scored both goals and bagged Man of the Match title. With this the DPS Budgam has achieved the distinction of being the highest scorer of the tournament so far.

Observers says Sundays final will be a tough fight for rival DPS teams. While DPS Budgam is in best performance, DPS-Srinagar has the advantage of playing at the home ground in the finals.
