SRINAGAR Police on Wednesday arrested the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik along with several other party leaders and activists, a JKLF spokesperson said.
In a statement issued, the spokesperson said, Police today morning raided the residence of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and arrested him. Police yesterday arrested JKLF vice chairman Showkat Bakhshi and zonal organizer Bashir Kashmiri and shifted them to police station Kothi Bagh along with JKLF chairman.
He said police earlier arrested JKLF district president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya) along with many party activists including Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani Koreg, Ghulam Muhammad Sofi, Rayees Ahmad Sofi, Muhammad Yousuf, Mushtaq Ahmad Goursa, Qaiser Ahmad and others, and lodged them in different police stations.
The spokesperson said since past one week, police have been summoning many other political leaders and activists to police stations and raided the houses of many to arrest them.
Strongly condemning these oppressive measures, the spokesperson said, Indian rulers through their local stooges use every type of undemocratic and dictatorial measures which are ridiculous and shameful.
