Governor reviews Dal-Nageen de-weeding operations
SRINAGAR Following Governor Volhra’s directive, Lakes and Waterways Development Authority, has launched a massive operation for manual removal of Lily patches and de-weeding in the Dal Lake.
“In compliance to the directions given by Governor N.N. Vohra in the Dal Review meeting held on 16th July 2018, A.H. Shah, VC, LAWDA informed that operation has launched a massive operation for manual removal of Lily patches and de-weeding on the right side of navigation channel from SKICC to NPL Bund.
About 700 skilled labours are working for the manual extraction of Lily plants and 400 semi-skilled labour have been employed for the manual de-weeding from the said area.
Governor is visiting the Lake on Sunday to review the ongoing cleaning and de-weeding operations, officials said.
Kashmir Inc Urges Governor to Implement City Master Plan
The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry while appreciating the Governor administration on having fixed 30 days deadline for finalization of Srinagar Master Plan, on Saturday expressed hope that the suggestions submitted by the KCC&I to the government on the plan, in February, 2018 will be given due consideration.
These suggestions were also further discussed by the Chamber delegation led by its President Javid Ahmad Tenga, with Mr. B. B. Viyas Advisor to Governor in a meeting on 12th of July 2018.
The Advisor has assured that all the suggestions will be taken due care of, KCC&I said in a statement.
“We appeal to the H.E the Governor of J&K to get the Master Plan implemented within this given deadline as Srinagar city is suffering for various civic facilities”, it said.
