SRINAGAR Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) Tuesday staged a protest demonstration here in Lal Chowk against the killing of civilians and use of intense force on people in which dozens of civilians got injured in South Kashmirs Shopian and Kulgam district.
Scores of KEA leaders led by Co-chairman Farooq Ahmed Dar took to the streets at Lal Chowk in protest against the death of civilians in security force action in Kulgam and Shopian.
KEA members raised pro-Kashmir slogans and demanded the end to the genocide of Kashmiri people during a protest at Ghanta Ghar in Lal Chowk. Dozens of members took part in the protest.
They were raising slogans Kashmiriyoon ka qatl-e-aam bandh karo (Stop genocide of Kashmiris) and Sarkari deshadgardi band karo Stop Civilian killings.
Taking note of civilian killings in Kashmir, Farooq Dar termed it a deep-rooted conspiracy performed by forces to expunge Muslim population here.
He reiterated that the state of Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory and impressed upon international Community to come forward for the solution of this long pending dispute.
Referring to South Kashmir killings Dar said seven people were killed and dozens injured in South Kashmir in two days which is highly condemnable.
He said it should be stopped immediately. I would request Indian Civil Societies and intellectuals to impress Indian government to stop the use of force on civilians in Kashmir, Dar impressed.
Dar also appealed United Nations and Amnesty International to play a vital role in discontinuation of the genocide of Kashmiris and solution of the issue.
We would not bear killings and atrocities on people. If India does not stop atrocities in Kashmir it would have bad outgrowth. Then we have to come out on the roads. Although I represent the business community, it is our moral as well as social responsibility to protest against the killings at the hands of forces in Kashmir, Dar in a statement said.
Dar in a statement said if India claims that it is the worlds largest democracy then why Kashmiri are particularly targeted by its forces rather than giving them their rights
Why the same yardstick is not used to deal with people all over the India and intense force is used to deal with people here, he asked.
