SRINAGAR Over 150 vehicles got stranded following the landslides near Zojila Pass along Srinagar-Leh highway in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday evening.
“We are stranded here for the last nearly three hours but no one from police, BRO or administration has come here to clear the road,” angry tourists told GNS over phone.
Happy Singh, one of the tourists stranded along with his family said that at around 6:45 pm, multiple landslides occurred near Zojila Pass leading to the closure of the Ladakh-Srinagar highway.
Since then, no one from the concerned agency came to the spot to restore this strategic road, he said.
The tourists have appealed authorities to immediately launch the road clearance operation so that their children and infants don’t suffer.
Meanwhile, official sources also confirmed that the road was blocked due to landslides.
Nearly 100 tourist vehicles and over 30 trucks are stranded in the area, they said. (GNS)
