Since our state, Jammu and Kashmir is a world famous for so many reasons such as its position on the tourism map, it’s historical importance and its unique culture and tradition. So to retain this specialty of our state, and to continue the journey on the track of development at par with other parts of the world, certain necessary arrangements are needed.
When looking outside the state, the present age is the that of competition. On one hand, the world is developing every passing day. On the other hand, this development is bringing its negative effects along with it, which are arriving as global issues. These issues are environmental, political, social and economic in nature. To cope up with these issues, the developing world is demanding the kind of people who can shoulder the responsibility to tackle these global issues.
But our state is in an extremely unfortunate position. if we look up on the execution of duties and responsibilities by the people at the helm of affairs in our state, the execution is highly unsatisfactory. Because of their inefficient work culture, selfish attitude and corrupt nature, our state is still lagging back among other states of the country in the field of development.
Despite the high claims made by our government regarding the achievements made in the fields of departmental works, the people at ground level are still facing a shortage of basic amenities, like proper road connectivity, portable drinking water facilities, uninterrupted electricity etc. All these basic facilities are almost dysfunctional in remote areas of the state. In addition to that, the authorities are yet to come up with solid job policies for thousands of those daily wagers, who are working for decades in different departments in our state.
The September 2014 flood affected traders and families, who are still claiming that they are yet to be rehabilitated. Here in our state, the irony is that some permanent employees ( Rehbar–e-Taleem Teachers) are being refused to be brought under 7th pay commission benefits. It is altogether a fault in the work culture of the responsible officers at the helm of affairs, and due to their carelessness, thousands of the people are made to suffer.
The best way to give the right track to this derailed system is to prepare the next generation for positive change. The generation which is next to ours, are our children. They are the people who after the expiration of our turn, have to take the charge of present ministers, officers, doctors, engineers, lawyers, teachers, politicians, leaders and other responsible citizens. So how successful they will prove, to be, depends on how compatible, honest, dedicated and helpful they will be to carry out their responsibilities honestly.
As the little droplets of water make a sea, likewise every person is a constituent part of this whole system. So if we are serious to bring a positive change, we have to change ourselves first. Then we can prepare our children, who are our future, to behave the way we behave.
The parents and teachers have an important role to play. They need to mould the attitude of the young generation desirably for the betterment of our faulty system in the future. We need to build up the spirit of ethical behavior and honesty among the children. So that they will come up with a corruption-free system in the future.
