Hizb Claims Responsibility
SRINAGAR Nine policemen and paramilitary CRPF troopers sustained splinter injuries in a grenade on the joint party in Tral town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A senior police officer said that the militants hurled the grenade on the joint team of police and CRPF near police station in Tral town.
In the blast, four policemen and five CRPF troopers suffered injuries and have been hospitalized, he said.
The force personnel who were deployed for law and order, opened some gunshots in retaliation, the officer said.
He said that the whole area has been cordoned off and a haunt has been launched to nab the attackers. A police spokesman in s statement said that militants attacked the police and paramilitary forces from within the crowd and forces exhibited restraint. Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit claimed responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, militants on Friday attacked the patrolling party of Army’s 55RR at Machpuna crossing near circular road area of Pulwama district.
SSP Pulwama, Mohd Aslam Chaudhary confirmed the incident and said that militants attacked army patrolling party, the fire was retaliated. However no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident, he said.
Meanwhile, the whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, he said.
