SRINAGAR A 52-year-old woman and her son were killed and seven others injured, four of them seriously, in a road accident on Bhadarwah-Chamba interstate road near Bhaderwah in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
Maana Daie (52) and her son Mukesh (26) were killed and seven others were injured when the van they were travelling on skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Khanni Top on Bhadarwah-Chamba Road, 24 km from Bhaderwah town.
Reports said the van (bearing registration number JK06A 1698) was on its way from Bhaderwah to famous tourist destination Padri meadow on Bhadarwah-Chamba interstate road when the accident took place.
“As soon we came to know about the accident, a police party under the supervision of SDPO Bhadarwah Touseef Rishu rushed to the spot and along with locals of Thanhala village started rescue operation and within one hour all the 9 persons were evacuated,” said Rajinder Singh, ASP Bhadarwah.
