SRINAGAR Militants on Wednesday lobbed a grenade on police post while a member of Special Operations Group of J&K police was abducted and later let off after awarning in south Kashmir.
SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam Choudhary said that militants fired the UBGL grenade on the police post at Lasipora, Pulwama.
“The sentry of the post retaliated the fire. However, there was no immediate report of any causality,” SSP said.
Meanwhile in the same district suspected militants abducted an SOG constable from Tral area of Pulwama district but was later let off.
Militants tonight abducted a cop, Ishfaq Ahmad, from his home at Woudr Nowpora in Lassipora area of Pulwama district. Sources said that a group of militants barged into his home tonight and took him along. The cop is posted with SOG in Pulwama and had gone home.
Massive hunt has been launched by security forces against the militants responsible for the abduction of the cop. However, the cop later returned home as he was let off by militants.
