SRINAGAR A group of unknown persons set on fire two shops and ransacked a residential house of an alleged “army informer” at a village in Shopian district on Tuesday.
Reports said that the group of people on Tuesday afternoon set ablaze two shops and later also ransacked household goods of Kifayat Ahmad Mir son of Bashir Ahmad Mir at Mulu, Chitrgam.
Mir’s “confessional video” of “informing army” about militants went viral on social media in April this year.
On April 15, this year, two militants and four civilians were killed in a shootout at Pohnoo Shopian after the army claimed to have laid an ambush following inputs about the movement of militants.
After his confession, he was later shot at in his foot by militants and was injured.
Meanwhile clashes broke out at DK Pora area of Shopian.
Reports reaching here said that the clashes erupted in the area after army tried to remove the graffiti of militants from walls in the area.
In the meantime, soldiers also resorted aerial firing after their vehicles were attacked with stones.
However, there was no immediate report of any injury so far in the incident.
