SHIMLA The Centre has denied to bring the Diesel and Petrol under Goods and service tax (GST) regime soon however it indicated that union Government is trying to keep fuel prices under tab for long term policy basis.
This was annouced by party national spokesperson Mr Sambit Patra while addressing media persons at the sidelines of Party State IT Cell workshp here today.
Union Government would make long term policy to keep petroleum prices under the tab however there is not immediate plan to bring the fuel products under GST regime , he said, adding, Union Minister for Petroleum Dharminder Pradhan was already consulting various stakeholders to form long-term plan to keep the prices under check.
Patra attributed that prices of petrol and diesel remained volatile owing to global instability in the crude oil market and civil war torn Iraq
