SRINAGAR Jammu and Kashmir Sports Karate Association team has made their state proud, claiming eleven medals in recently concluded SKAI National Karate Championship 2018 held at Kolkata, West Bengal, a statement from the association said.
According to the statement, J&K side playing under the banner of K2 Martial Acadmey bagged two gold, four silver and five bronze medals to get selected for SKAI Karate World Cup Championship 2018.
Aizaz Khan and Sahil Farooq pocketed gold medals while Peerzada Basarat, Amreen Yousuf, Ifra Rafiq and Vishal Thapa brought home a silver medal each.
Zubair Manzoor, Fahad bin Shabir, Nadish Yousuf, Zoya Bhat and Abdullah Manzoor had to contend with a bronze each.
Umer Akbar President JKSAI, Farzaan Hussain General Secretary and Muntazir Yaseen Treasurer JKSAI were all praise for their players.
The association has congratulated the players for their winning show and thanked J&K State Sports Council for their support. The association was particularly thankful to secretary Sports Council Waheed Ur Rehman Parra.
