SRINAGAR A number of grenades blasts took place in Kashmir Valley on Friday, leaving four paramilitary troopers, a policeman and a civilian injured at one place near Khanbal area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. In other blasts, there was no casualty reported.
Official sources said suspected militants lobbed a grenade on a joint patrol of CRPF and Police, resulting in injuries to four CRPF men and the cop.
A pedestrian Abdul Rasheed of Amlar, Tral also received injuries in the incident, they said.
All the injured were rushed to nearby hospital for treatment. The injured CRPF troopers have been identified as Ravinder Singh, Veer Singh, Vinod Kumar, and Mohammad Siraj while policeman as Head Constable Abdul Majeed.
A police officer said that investigations have been launched and searches started to nab the assailants. Militants fired upon the vehicle of CRPFs 183 battalion at Eidgah crossing in Pulwama town early Friday morning.
Official sources said there no loss of life or injury in the incident.
Militants also carried out a grenade attack at the residence of ruling PDP MLA Mushtaq Shah.
Militants lobbed a grenade towards the residence of Tral MLA Mushtaq Shah in Pulwama. It exploded in the lawn and no one was injured, a police official said, adding the legislator was not in the house at the time of the incident.
Shah is an MLA of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which has a coalition government with the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir.
Police sources confirmed the incident and said that a UBGL grenade was hurled on 180 battalion CRPF camp in Nowdal village, which exploded near the fencing of camp. They said that no loss of life or injury reported in this attack.
Pertinently, it was the second attack on Friday in Tral after MLA’s house was attacked today afternoon.
Suspected militants lobbed on grenade at CRPF banker in Lal chowk, the commercial hub of this summer capital. In the incident there was no injury to anyone. Police said that it was says verifying details.
A Grenade attack took place on A/49 bn at Badshah Flat at 08:10 PM from Bridge side. There was no loss or injury, an official said.
