SrinagarContinuing with its efforts to provide a solace to the families of J&K Police personnel, who died in harness, Director General of Police, Dr. S.P Vaid has issued orders for 50% concession in school fees for wards of deceased police personnel studying in Police Public Schools.
Orders to this effect were issued on the recommendations of Chairperson, Management Committee of J&K police Public Schools Smt. Bharti Vaid.
The initiative will help such good number of wards studying in these schools.
DGP grants scholarship to 194 meritorious police wards; Wards of SPOs brought under scholarship scheme
Director General of Police, Dr. S.P Vaid has granted scholarship of rupees 10.55 lakh in favour of 194 wards of serving police personnel, who have secured eighty percent and above marks in annual examination of class 10th and 12th during the academic session 2017.
The scholarship has been granted out of Central Police Welfare Fund for 116 meritorious students of class 10th and 78 of class 12th, which include 103 girl students also.
Students from class 10th, having secured above ninety percent marks are granted scholarship of rupees six thousand each and the wards with eighty percent and above marks are given rupees four thousand each.
Similarly wards of class 12th with above ninety percent marks are given scholarship of rupees seventy-two hundred each and with eighty percent or above marks are granted rupees six thousand each.
Two wards of serving SPOs have also been granted meritorious scholarship of rupees six thousand each for securing the prescribed criteria of marks in class 10th and 12th. This was the first time that the SPOs have been brought under the scholarship scheme. (KNS)
