SrinagarIn connection with the ongoing Hafta-e-Shahadat (martyrs week) to commemorate the martyrdom anniversaries of Shaheed-e-Milat Moulana Muhammad Farooq, Shaheed-e- Hurriyat Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone and the martyrs of Hawal massacre of May 21, 1990 a free medical camp was organised by Awami Action Committee at Jamia Masjid Srinagar where prominent doctors examined the people having different types of ailments. Free medicines were also distributed among the people on the occasion.
Doctors from the Unani Medicine steam afrom the Al- Haya hospital also participated in the camp.
Hundreds of people including women and children were able to take advantage of the camp as doctors from nearly all streams checked patients and distributed medicines. AAC patron Mirwaiz Umar Farooq thanked the doctors for who attended the camp. He also took stock of the treatment being provided to the patients and lauded the role of doctors and paramedical staff.
The AAC, however, expressed its dismay over the non participation of the doctors of SMHS and SKIMS stating that despite a proper invitation to Principal Medical College and Director SKIMS doctors were not sent for this social service, which is most unfortunate as many poor patients attend the camp for free treatment every year.
