SrinagarJammu and Kashmir police chief on Thursday urged families of local militants to take advantage of the Ramazan ceasefire announced by the Union government by persuading theirs sons to shun militancy.
In a tweet, Director General of Police Shesh Paul Vaid, said: Taking advantage of fresh initiative of GOI during Ramadan, families of local militants should urge their sons to leave path of violence & join them to live peacefully. Wish them good luck.
On Wednesday Union Home Ministry announced the unilateral ceasefire during the holy month of Ramazan in Jammu and Kashmir.
However, militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba has rejected the ceasefire, by calling it a drama.
